to interchange when needed on the same magnetic base. With 3db to 9 dB of gain available , this gives you flexibility to use the smaller antennas in the city and then change to the larger antennas when longer distance or interstate driving is needed. Having 4 interchangeable whips also allows you to experiment where ever you are for the best antenna giving you the strongest signal, taking a the guess work out of choosing the right antenna.

FAQ:
Which Antenna should I use?
High Gain antennas are very directional toward the
horizon. Our CA40M antenna is are great for flat terrains
and when the towers are more than 10 miles away.
The CA24M antenna works well with in
countryside interstate highway travel allowing for modest gain and medium
range towers.
Our CA2M and CA12M antennas are great
in most circumstances. They work well within cities and mountainous
terrains. They are less directional with a wide range of coverage. They work
well with any of our boosters.
If you are unsure or if you will be in both close and
far distance from the towers, go with our 4-in-1 CA4MW , which has 4 of our
best selling whips all in one package. Just unscrew one whip and screw on
another depending on the circumstances.
Do I need to mount the antenna on a
metal surface for it to work?
The magnetic mount is only there to hold the
antenna in place. There is no metal contact between the antenna and the
surface. However, the proximity of the metal adds to greater distance .
What Does Gain Have to do with
anything?
Gain is the measurement of how well an
antenna compares to a simple antenna form know as a dipole. It is measured
in dB. For every 3 dB the performance of the antenna doubles. 3 dB is 2
times. 6 dB is 2x2 = 4 times. 9dB is 2 x 2 x 2 =8 times. 10 dB is
exactly 10 times. The antenna itself does not really add any energy or
increase the signal strength of the cell phone, but rather better utilizes
what is already there. But you shouldn't base your decision on choice
of antenna on gain alone. That is because the higher the gain, the more
directional the antenna becomes towards the horizontal. See WHICH ANTENNA

What is Effective Gain ( dBe)?
Effective Gain is the expected performance of
the external antenna when compared to the antenna that comes with the cell
phone. A cell phone internal antenna has -7 dB of gain. That's right.
It actually looses signal strength. Adding and external antenna, you
make up the loss of 7 dB and add the gain of the external antenna.
That means that our CA2M 3 dB gain antenna has an effective gain of
7+3 = 10 dB effective. Our competitors like to try to show this value as the
actual gain of the antenna to make you think that there antenna is better
than ours. Don't believe them! They are really looking at effective gain
which is not an industry standard. .
